While it is most important that everyone just get used to meeting online face-to-face with others, regardless of the tools, and while there are alot of good free (base level) services like skype, google video chat, yahoo video chat, the tango, facetime, ichat, etc…..once one has experienced the highly personalized experience of this level of quality, there is no going back. Because the NowDox community has worked with partners at Apractis and IDSolutions to provide very cost effective methods of enabling Vidyo as a hosted service for the individual, there is no limit to the ways one might leverage such tools..This is me and my mom!

Interesting perspective, Dr. Barbash. For the most part, I agree with what you’ve presented in this post. However, as the technology advances for video conferencing, so to will the technology for the vehicle’s that deliver these video conferences. There are many plausible scenarios in which one may find themselves in need of a video conference but only having a smartphone at the ready. I agree with you about which platform’s offer the best video experience. But there will definitely come a time where one will have to make use with the tool in hand…..a smartphone. We should feel confident that if you choose to use that tool, that your experience with it will be a good one. I’ve participated in a few point to point video conferences with my 4g equipped smartphone. I walked away with a smile each time.
